After a problem practice Jeremy Welch in his Austin Healey 3000 starts from the last row of the grid in the pouring rain and works his way through the 34 cars to lead the race by lap 15.

Pit stopping after 34.5 minutes where Denis Welch takes over with the silver E-Type getting out a little quicker and staying ahead. Denis goes on to set fastest lap of the race as conditions begin to dry.

As a result of this crash Jeremy unfortunately broke his back and ended up with 6 months off work, the car took longer to repair.

Austin Healey 3000 at Oporto Boavista Circuit - Denis Welch Motorsport

KVS was first on the track closely followed for the whole session by the Lotus Elan of Sean walker and Ian Flux. Watch out on the 2nd lap for the Corvette who has clearly forgotten where his mirrors are , when exiting the pit lane!
