From day one, team Lajournade and Bouchet took the second place overall and never left that position. Lajournade's E-type had been battling throughout the rally with two AC Cobra's driven by Ludovic Caron and Shaun Lynn. Caron was leading until the special stage ten, when he went off the road, losing 4 minutes and lead of the race. An exciting fight, both on rally and circuit stages, took place between Lynn AC Cobra and Lajournade E-type. The Jaguar was quicker on the rally stages for about 10-15 seconds Lynn Cobra's was faster for half a minute on the track. On the final day the E-type was still leading the Cobra by 9 seconds but, a one minute penalty, for speeding, given to the E-type fixed the positions. This ensured victory for S. Lynn, despite the E-type's effort, and explains the small, 33 seconds, final difference.

With no time for roadside assistance and only two hours every evening for maintenance you have to be sure that your car is prepared perfectly. Denis Welch Motorsport has pleasure in participating in the preparation and parts supply for Jean-Pierre Lajournade and Christophe Bouchet's Jaguar E-type. With settings for the chassis and suspension adjusted, as advised by Jeremy Welch, the E-type Team finished the Rally on fantastic second position!

“The Denis Welch Motorsport prepared E-type is fantastic! Jaguar worked perfectly, with no issue. Friends, who worked on the car, were delighted from its practicality compared to the Lotus Elan I used previously, which required a lot of maintenance. We are now preparing for Spa Classic in May and Le Mans Classic, in July. 
We definitely want to reach the top step on the podium next year, so we are currently in process of building a brand new, much lighter E-type hard-top roadster. We are using the winning parts from Denis Welch Motorsport...engine, gearbox, diff and accessories. We would recommend DWM to all as they are as fantastic as their E-type.
