It was a very successful debut for Denis Welch Motorsport. Mark Pangborn and Jeremy Welch entered the Gentlemen Drivers in their Jaguar E-type. Saturday's qualifying session placed them 4th on the grid. During the race on Sunday morning the Pangborn/Welch team were battling against two AC Cobras. The Denis Welch Motorsport engine ran smoothly getting ahead of ten competitors. Congratulations are due to the Mark Pangborn and Jeremy Welch who finished the race on the 3rd place!
Over thirty Formula Junior cars entered FIA Lurani Trophy competition. Mark Pangborn, in his Lotus 20B, qualified 11th. In the first Formula Junior race Mark managed 8th position. In the second race Mark achieved very credible 4th place. Well done!

The Algarve Classic Festival 2013 was held on October 18th-20th at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao and was the last meeting in our busy racing calendar. The end-of-season GT and Sports Car Cup grid, with over twenty Pre-66 cars, was one of many highlights found at the historic races at Portimao. Jeremy Welch and Mark Pangborn entered their Jaguar E-type. The qualifying session placed them 2nd on the race starting line. The high qualifying position promised a great result in the race. Unfortunately, twice during the race the Jaguar had to make a stop in the pits for repairs, as a result Jeremy and Mark finished the race on 17th place.
Mark Pangborn entered his Lotus 20B into FIA Lurani Trophy challenge and finished his qualifying session on 17th place. Mark managed to work his way up during two Formula Junior races and after battling with over thirty cars he finished on a high 5th place.
There were sixteen cars on the starting line in the Motor Racing Legend 50’s Sport Cars. Team Ian Montgomery, Robert A. Mills and Jeremy Welch in their Austin-Healey 100S finished the race 7th overall and second in their class.
Ian, Robert and Jeremy hugely improved the time to achieve a high position in the race, as after the qualifying session they had been 13th on the grid.
