The car arrived at the track with a brand new bonnet, fitted but not painted following damage sustained at the Nurburgring two weeks ago.
Saturday qualifying saw Lockie take pole position by just under 0.5sec. On Sunday Lockie started the race and got off to a flying start, retaining the lead into the first corner. After 10 laps his stint was up and he came into the pits for the mandatory pit stop and driver change. Julian Thomas then took over.
Julian had a bit more of a challenge fending off the 2nd place car of Alistair Dyson. With the pit window closed and the order settled, Thomas was able to re-take the lead and go on to victory by 1.8 seconds, a stewards enquiry would later see Dyson being given a 1 minute time penalty for speeding in the pit lane.
The Winning Combination
Managing Director Jeremy Welch said " The hard work and dedication of the team ensured the car was the one to beat this season. Both Julian and Calum have demonstrated their driving skills in a variety of challenging conditions this year and it's extremely pleasing to see a very happy customer standing on the top of the podium once again".
