The event. All Austin Healey 100 drivers present will have the opportunity to win an award for the outstanding real driver’s car arbitrated by a competent jury. In addition, Healey 100 drivers and their partners will benefit from free admission. Between 2pm-4pm snacks and drinks will be served.
Mr. Gerry Coker. In the early 1950s, Gerry Coker, who now lives in Sarasota, Florida, envisioned and designed, one of the coolest-looking cars ever built: the classic Austin-Healey, which was introduced in the 1950s and remains a standard of classic automobile styling. The Healey 100 is the only car he ever designed as a whole. Mr. Gerry Coker has reached the age of 90 now but, in his mind especially, he is still very much “alive and kicking”.
Award for Excellence. The Gerry Coker Award was set up by him personally a number of years ago, to reward Austin Healey 100 owners who in a certain calendar year do large mileages and have been taking part in several competitive-or semi competitive rallies.
At present, Mr. Gerry Coker is the official “protector” of the Museum who, keeping in mind his age, took over the prize giving. The 2013 award will be given to the lucky Healey owner who, according to Gerry, best meets the conditions of the prize.
Denis Welch Motorsport would like to wish all attendants a positive meeting in the Austin Healey Museum Netherlands which, in our opinion, should be firmly on every Healey supporters bucket list.
Come along and enjoy great day out with friends and family around Austin-Healey fans!
