The second edition of the Healey Driver International Challenge Race for Tim Rogers and Dave Hardy Memorial Trophies at the Castle Combe Circuit 6th October 2013 gathered an impressive 24 Austin-Healey's with 39 drivers.

We would like to congratulate winners of the Big Healey Challenge 2013, team David Grace and Anders Schildt. The fastest Austin-Healey 3000 Mk 1 of course with a Denis Welch Motorsport engine completed 28 laps in a time of 44 minutes 03.241 seconds. Compliments are also due to all our drivers and cars taking part in the race. An impressive 8 Denis Welch Motorsport engines ran smoothly from start to finish last Sunday at the Castle Combe track.

Due to fast changing information about drivers and cars participating, our previous news may have caused confusion to our readers, so some explanations are needed. During the testing session on Thursday Jeremy Welch crashed his KVS484. The promising duet Welch and Geensall wasn't able to take part in the race as a team. Jeremy stepped down from being the Nils-Fredrik co-driver giving this opportunity to Nigel Greensall.

Karsten Le Blanc entered his famous ex-works Le Mans car DD300 as a solo driver. The car prepared by Denis Welch Motorsport along with the excellent drive astounding spectators setting a great qualifying lap of 1 minutes 21.800 seconds. Karsten finished the race in a very credible 4th place, completing 28 laps.

Team Nils-Fredrik Nyblaeus and Nigel Greensall finished 6th, after qualifying 4th. Greensall - the outright lap record holder at Castle Combe in 1997 was delayed during the pit stop by the Safety Car which appeared on the track, depriving Greensall / Nyblaeus of the leading position.

Tony Worthington and Chris Woodgate, after qualifying 15th, battled their way up to finish in 11th place - just outside the top ten teams.

Nils-Fredrik Nyblaeus entered his Austin-Healey 100M with co-driver Neil Hardy. The qualifying session put them 22nd on the starting line. Nils-Fredrik and Neil after completing 26 laps finished 17th.

Team Ian and Bruce Montgomery after a great qualifying session placing them in 12th position, achieved the fastest lap time in their class during the Big Healey Challenge race with a time of 1 minute 23.443 seconds. Ian and Bruce finished the race in 20th place.
