The weekend kicked off with the Masters Gentlemen Drivers race on the Saturday, which was quite the spectacle as pre-66 GT cars battled for pole position. The Austin Healey 3000 YOP 999 had a fantastic race as Nils Nybaleus and Jeremy Welch fought for a 2nd place finish in class and set the fastest lap in class.
Racing resumed on a sunny Sunday for the FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship race. Julian Thomas competed in his Chevron B8, joined by co-driver Calum Lockie. The Chevron started the race from the pit lane and still managed to finish 1st in the Bonnier class. Julian fought his way through the pack benefiting from several safety car outings. Ultimately the race was red flagged and the results rolled back a lap.
The Ford Falcon rounded off a great weekend for Denis Welch Motorsport, winning silverware in the Masters Pre 66 Touring Car race. The Ford Falcon had a brilliant start to the race as it jostled with the front runners until it was penalised for missing the pit window for the mandatory pit stop, which pushed the Falcon down in to 5th. Despite this setback the Falcon made an incredible comeback to finish 3rd overall and 2nd in class.
