It was a mesmerising performance by the Denis Welch Motorsport team in the Pre-63 GT race, occupying the top 3 spots in class all being "works cars". DD 300 came out victorious grabbing 1st place, SMO 746 took 2nd place and 767 KNX earned 3rd place in class, finishing 4th, 5th and 7th overall.
The GT & Sports Car Cup proved to be an exciting 2 hour race, with plenty of action between pre-66 GT and Pre-63 sports-racing cars. The Denis Welch Motorsport team had 3 Austin Healey 3000s on the grid ready to fight for the win.
Last years race at Donington marked the return of SMO 746, taking to the track for the first time in 45 years. This year it had an incredible race and took 1st place in the GT3 Class. DD 300 battled it out in a thrilling race where it managed to take 4th place in the GT3 class. 767 KNX fought hard for brilliant 3rd place finish in the GT3 class.
Julian Thomas and co-driver Calum Lockie competed in the HRDC Coys Trophy race in Julians Ford Falcon. The Falcon qualified on the seond row of the grid taking the lead in to the first corner. Pulling out by a considerable distance until unfortunately suffering a burst oil cooler with only six minutes until the end.
The Jaguar Classic Challenge race showcased the very best of Jaguars rich racing heritage. 5303 VB eased to victory with an imposing performance finishing 1st overall, taking home the Jaguar Classic Challenge trophy for the second time in 3 years.
The Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy race showcased a range of stylish Post-War sport cars. DHD 100, a sleek Austin Healey 100S had a magnificent race, finishing 2nd in its class.
