Gentlemen Drivers Pre-66 GT Cars

Gentlemen Drivers provides mini-endurance races for pre-1966 GT cars. The race featured a packed grid and with the race lasting 90 minutes it offered a fabulous spectacle as pace and team strategy unfolded towards the chequered flag. Denis Welch Motorsport supported and prepared 2 cars in this race, a Jaguar E Type and a Austin Healey 3000.

Julian Thomas raced in his Jaguar E Type alongside co-driver Calum Lockie. The Jaguar raced extremely well finishing in 3rd place overall with only an AC Cobra and Ferrari 250 GTO ahead.

Nils Nyblaeus raced in his Austin Healey 3000, YOP 999 with co-driver, Jeremy Welch. Both Nils and Jeremy raced magnificently as the Healey proved to be the fastest in its C2 class with a 1st place finish. 

FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship 

Julian Thomas competed in his Chevron B8 for the first time, once again Calum Lockie joined Julian as his co-driver. This BMW powered iconic sports car is new to the Denis Welch Motorsport team.

This race featured Le Mans style sports cars and Group 4 period cars from 1962 up to 1974. There was a 40 minute qualifying round on Saturday 21st April followed by a 60 minute race which took place the day after on Sunday 22nd April.

The race didn't go to plan as several incidents and safety-car periods interrupted the flow of the race. Despite a few setbacks the Chevron B8 finished in a respectable 5th place position, taking 2nd place in its class. This performance was quite impressive considering it was the first time Julian and Calum raced the Chevron B8.
